An off-track door under spring tension shouldn't be forced by hand — 5 Star Garage Door Service's Kewanee, IL crews carry the tools to realign it safely.
5 Star Garage Door Service trains Kewanee, IL technicians on this exact service line so you're not the one teaching them on the job.
We'd rather send one truck that's actually equipped for garage door off track repair than three that aren't, even if it means a slightly longer wait on a rare occasion.
Forcing an off-track door back into place without fixing the cause means repeat failure.
We use proper clamps and support tools rather than muscling it by hand.
We match replacement track gauge and profile to your existing system.
An off-track door often means you can't operate the garage at all — we prioritize these calls.
A door jammed halfway off the track gets stabilized and realigned — restoring normal operation same visit in most cases.
Minor bends from an impact get straightened with proper tools — we verify alignment against manufacturer spec afterward.
Severely bent or rusted-through sections get replaced entirely — matched to your door's existing hardware.
Worn rollers are a leading cause of derailment — bearings get greased and tested through a full cycle after.
Mounting brackets that have worked loose get re-secured — loose brackets under load are a frequent cause of repeat incidents.

"""Explained why my quick fix attempt actually made the derailment worse. Fixed it properly after."""
"""Door jumped the track after my son backed the bike into it. Realigned and running smooth within the hour."""
"""Tried pushing it back myself first, bad idea. Tech fixed it properly and explained why forcing it makes it worse."""
"""Track was bent from a loose bracket nobody caught. They found the actual cause this time."""
"""Upgraded to nylon rollers while fixing the track. Noticeably quieter now."""
We recommend not parking directly under a derailed door until it's inspected.
We don't recommend it — it's often still under spring tension and can drop if handled improperly.
We diagnose the specific cause on-site rather than assuming.
It's both a security gap and a safety risk if under tension — we treat these as priority calls.
Most calls don't require full track replacement.
Cost depends on whether it's a simple realignment or requires roller or track replacement.
We keep Kewanee coverage tight enough to hold same-day response standards for this service.
